Growing number of cars and decline of Mass transit systems have made things worser for the growing economies. Going at this rate, i believe the to come generations will never have a chance to drive a car that runs on oil. Already alternate fuel systems are being researched vigorously. GM has been working on a Hydrogen gas powered car for the last 5 years, Toyota/ honda have successfully launched Hybrid cars. Though researches is in early stage, some alternative fuel will have to be eventually developed or the world has to fear the possibility of running out of oil.The worst thing for the world would be another War for the sake of oil.The way USA, china, India and other growing economies have been going behind oil it is quite possible that there would be a Third world war for oil.

Yes, the quest and need for increasing oil is indeed increasing..nice awareness picture...here in US the oil prices have gone up like crazy and even at work, we are being asked to commute via public transportation etc.....
Oil prices have been going up like crazy, I remember it being Just about between $1- 1.5/G an yr back, Its almost double now and looks it might get to $3 very soon.If its so bad here, Imagine the plight in India where imports are more than 75% of the crude requirement.
